Since launching in early 2014, The Record Factory, based at Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow has been booking some amazing live acts and DJ sets from the current UK music scene.
Hosting some of the best Scottish live acts, the venue has seen acts such as Prides, Hector Bizerk, Tijuana Bibles and Model Aeroplanes all take to the stage, amongst over 80 other Scottish based acts. Record Factory is also host to Britian’s most Rock n Roll clubnight This Feeling, which runs on the 1st Saturday of every month from 8pm till 2am.
The club of Record Factory has been just as busy as the venue, hosting countless aftershow parties including this years official NME aftershow party which had Temples DJing. Other DJ sets/aftershows have seen Palma Violets, Dum Dum Girls, Ocean Colour Scene, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Deap Vally and recent Barclaycard Mercury Music winners Young Fathers all take to the decks.
The venue, in-keeping with its eclectic music policy has also seen live performances from Kyle Falconer ( The View ), Pop favourites The Hoosiers, Kings of Leon tour support The Weeks ( USA ), LIFE who recently signed to The Killers management plus London based DEMS, who are currently one of the most hottest electro/synth acts in the UK and NME darlings. The venue, in its short existence has also hosted some great Britpop nights, featuring acts such as John Power ( Cast/The La’s ) and Chris Helme ( The Seahorses ).
With Record Factory planning to make some improvements internally to both the venue and club areas, this will be a great venue in 2015 for emerging talent in Scotland. The venue is open from Noon till 2am 7 days a week. Live shows run 8pm till 11pm, with the club kicking in straight after till 2am.
